Handwritten letter from Union soldier and nurse Edward W. Curtis of Co. I, 88th Illinois Infantry Regiment, to his aunt about the opening of the summer campaign, wounded soldiers arriving late at night, a man who had a tree fall on him after being knocked to the ground by an explosion, a young man who was shot through the elbow with it breaking any bones, an investment made, and sending wounded to Nashville. Includes envelope.
